Temporary Closure

As we navigate these unprecedented times, each day brings extraordinary new challenges that none of us could have predicted. Throughout the COVID-19 situation, our team has focused on keeping our guests safe while providing an unforgettable dining experience.

However, the time to adjust has come. Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen will temporarily close operations, effective March 16. Because the situation is rapidly evolving, we have yet to identify a re-opening date. Our team will remain available to help you to confirm or reschedule an upcoming reservation, to provide updates on the situation here in Jasper or to chat with you about the magic of our kitchen in the wilderness. We love what we do.

Along with our community partners, we will continue to focus our efforts on the health and safety of our team and our guests. We appreciate your support and send strong wishes for health and well-being to all of you. Together, we will navigate this storm.

Getting to Maligne Canyon

Maligne Canyon is located just 10 minutes from the Jasper townsite and 5 minutes from Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge on the Maligne Lake Road. This roadway provides breathtaking vistas and great opportunities for spotting wildlife. It’s also the road that leads to famous Maligne Lake and Spirit Island.

From the east end of the town site of Jasper, follow Highway 16 east for 3 km and take the turnoff for Maligne Lake Road to the right. Proceed over the iron bridge across the Athabasca River and stay left at the fork in the road. Follow the road to Maligne Canyon (on your left side).
