A $17.50 parking fee applies in the Parks Canada lot near the Banff Gondola from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. between May 15 and October 12, 2026. The pilot project aims to address traffic congestion to the Banff Gondola and the neighbouring Banff Upper Hot Springs.
The dedicated Banff Gondola shuttle, operated by Brewster Sightseeing, offers pickups from several stops in downtown Banff, including the Elk Street IGA, Banff Park Museum and Banff Train Station. Shuttles run during Banff Gondola operating hours from May 15 to October 12, 2026.

To ride the free Banff Gondola shuttle, pre-purchase a Banff Gondola ticket on our official website, then show the ticket to the shuttle driver during pick up. The full shuttle schedule is available on the Banff Gondola website.

To ride to the Banff Gondola with Roam Transit for free, show your same-day, pre-purchased ticket to the Route 1 driver during pick up. More information on the route, including schedule and a stop map, is available on the Roam Transit website.
While we encourage alternative transportation options, paid parking is available near the Banff Gondola at a day rate of $17.50 from May 15 to October 12, 2026. Payment kiosks are on-site, as are accessible parking spots. Please note that this lot is managed by Parks Canada, not the Banff Gondola.
TIP: Give yourself plenty of time if you plan to drive. The Parks Canada lot can fill up during busy periods. Re-booking is subject to availability, and Banff Gondola tickets are non-refundable.

Parking is also available at the Banff Train Station. This public lot features 500 free spots for day visits (6 a.m. to 11 p.m.) just outside of downtown. Once you’ve parked, you can catch a Banff Gondola shuttle from the station or stroll to the Banff High School Transit Hub to catch Roam Transit Route 1.
