See the incredible Maligne Canyon from a whole new perspective! Many visitors explore Maligne Canyon in the summer from pathways and bridges. This winter, join our guide for a safe and beautiful exploration along the frozen canyon floor. Discover this maze of fascinating natural ice sculptures. Explore the entrance to a cave system, ice caves, fossils and towering frozen waterfalls stretching over 30 metres up the canyon walls.
Our tread-enhancing cleats, warm winter boots and helmets will help you stay warm and feel secure while walking on the ice.
Please note: The current cold weather in Jasper is helping to thicken the ice at the depths of Maligne Canyon. While it is still forming, we will be offering an amended walking tour of Maligne Canyon from Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen. Maligne Canyon Icewalks will run at temperatures warmer than -30°C, as such, some tours may be moved to a warmer time of the day while we are experiencing the colder temperatures this week. Please contact the Reservations team at 1.844.762.6713 to inquire about the latest forecasts and ice conditions.
