Start your day in town with a hearty mountain breakfast at Chateau Jasper's Silverwater Grill & Lounge. The menu is extensive and will fuel you up for a day of adventuring.
With a View
If you'd like some quiet solitude with your morning coffee, head to Aalto at Pyramid Lake Lodge. Pick from a menu of classic dishes and inventive creations, enjoy a great meal and watch the day begin.
Maligne Lake, 1–to–1.5 hour (48 km) drive from Jasper
After breakfast, set off on Maligne Lake Road. Take your time as you drive, as “animal jams” (when drivers stop to admire roadside wildlife) are common along the route.
The View — Jasper’s most stunning patio — awaits you at the edge of Maligne Lake. Settle into the scenery and explore a menu of internationally inspired shareables and handhelds, served alongside cocktails, wine and a variety craft beer. After lunch, stick around to trek one of many hiking trails that begin near the boathouse, or embark on a Maligne Lake Cruise to Spirit Island (we recommend booking this adventure in advance).

From artisan cocktails to main dishes that spotlight regional ingredients, every visit to the restaurant located inside The Crimson is a distinctly Jasper experience. Stop in early for happy hour, offered daily from 4 to 5 p.m., to save on drinks and appetizers.

If you’re still feeling lively post-dinner, grab a nightcap at The Maligne Range. You don’t need to be a whisky aficionado to love this Connaught Drive distillery, though their Canadian Whisky flights will give you a new appreciation for the barrel-aged craft. An excellent selection of beers, wines, cocktails, award-winning gins and other spirits round out the menu, alongside a dedicated “Night Caps” section featuring cognac, ice wine and more. Cheers to Jasper dining done right!
