Banff Jasper Collection

Experience an iconic natural landmark.

Maligne Canyon sits at the gateway to Jasper’s Maligne Valley, just minutes from Jasper and home to some of region’s most breathtaking scenery and iconic adventures. Named for its haunting atmosphere, Maligne Canyon is the deepest canyon in the park, dropping to a depth of more than 50 metres at some points. Six bridges built across the canyon allow hikers of all abilities to explore this incredible natural landmark.

The Maligne Canyon Restaurant and Gift Shop sits at the top of the canyon right at the trailhead entrance and parking lot. The full-service restaurant overlooks the Maligne River—the crashing and humming of the river echo to the large outdoor patio. Inside, there are a number of delicious options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Take something to go as you head out and explore, or stop in after your hike for signature afternoon high tea.
